One of the many joys of the Merrie Monarch Festival is the vibrant display of love for Hawaiʻi’s beautiful traditions. The pāpale, the lei, the muʻumuʻu, the hula, and of course, the Hawaiian jewelry!
I am thrilled to be a part of the festival this year. I will be showcasing our HIE collection at Hana Hou on Thursday, April 4th. Hana Hou is an absolute must-stop if you have not been. Their shop is filled with pāpale, curated vintage, Keiki clothes we all want our kids to wear, and much more. During the festival, they will also be launching their collaboration with another favorite brand, Emieo, which I am dying to check out.
On Friday, ALOHA Collection is launching its Merrie Monarch Lei Collection at Hana Hou! I will also be there doing a signing for my book, Lei Aloha, which celebrates lei culture in Hawaiʻi, and what better place to do this than Merrie Monarch.
So…. if you see me at the airport with so SO much luggage… I promise I’m usually a light-packer, but not for Merrie Monarch! I always bring a few muʻumuʻu to choose from, and a couple extra for my friends. This year, I will also have our HIE pareo to share, books… and lei to share from Honolulu’s favorite Chinatown lei shop, Lin's Lei Shop
Next week HIE will be heading to the other side of Hawaiʻi Island. The goop Shop located in the Mauna Lani will be hosting a two-day HIE Trunk Show on April 9th & 10th. I will be there on the 9th for a Designer Reception from 2pm - 5pm to share the latest additions to our Pikake Collection.
On Thursday and Friday, April 11th & 12th, we head to Kona Village, the iconic Kohala coast property, recently renovated by award winning Nicole Hollis, that holds a close place to so many Kamaʻaina hearts. Kona Village will be hosting its first HIE Trunk Show to celebrate their shop, Island Copra, carrying a selection of the HIE Collection in store!
